The first night at home… ever.

Tonight Clara has been allowed to trial a night at home. As in, in her actual bed. For the first time. Ever.

Clara’s off PN from Saturday morning until Sunday night and they’ve allowed her to come home for the whole weekend. She’ll go back and be plugged in at the hospital tomorrow night, and normality will resume next week.

But for now? There are no words to describe how much of a dream I’m living.

It’s also monumental for another reason. Five months ago today we were told it was likely that this was the end of our little girl’s journey, she’d spent just two weeks on this earth by then.

They’d set up a meeting with Helen & Douglas house so we could agree how she’d spend her last few days should things go the way probability suggested. We refused. It doesn’t bare thinking about.

But you’ll understand now why this girl is our medical miracle and why tonight is the most special night of our entire lives so far.

It might just be for one night, but our little girl has come home.

  1. A momentous day indeed 2nd June. Think the Queens Coronation was 65 years ago on 2nd. So long may Clara reign over us Lots of love
